Dear Ms. Landsman,

We have investigated this matter thoroughly and confirmed that Horizon Organic is compliant with all USDA regulations in their dairy operations. In fact, we have had the pleasure of working closely with Horizon Organic representing the organic industry to the National Organic Standards Board, and know first hand that Horizon is a leading supporter of access to pasture for dairy cattle.

As the nation's first and largest certified organic retailer, Whole Foods Market takes seriously the integrity of all organic products we sell. We verify the certification of every product we sell, and our company is subject to a stringent audit by our certifier to ensure that everything we sell as organic is truly organic. We played a lead role in the development of the organic standards, and remain supportive of the USDA's National Organic Standards.

Sincerely,

Jessie Walker
