A FOOD CHAIN RELEASE FROM METROFARM.COM

The good news is we have discovered a profitable way to dispose of our toxic wastes. The bad news is we call it fertilizer and sell it to the farmers who grow our food!

Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 9AM Pacific, the Food Chain with Michael Olson (Northern California) hosts Seattle Times writer Duff Wilson for a conversation about how the nations toxic wastes have become the nations fertilizers. (Listen over the Internet: http://www.metrofarm.com/index.asp?cat=40088 ) The audio file will be available for several weeks. Topics will include how a small town mayor in Washington uncovered a nation-wide practice of recycling toxic wastes into farmers fields; the story of how Seattle Times writer Duff Wilson published this story; and whether the practice of recycling toxic wastes as fertilizers should, or should not, continue.

Listeners are invited to call the live program on KFRM, KGOE, KMPH, KOMY, or KSCO with questions and comments at 800-624-2665.
