Contrary to the "free-market" propaganda peddled by the Club For Growth, Wal-Mart and assorted think tanks, the corporate class ruthlessly stamps out competition, and the most politically powerful commercial associations use the levers of government to boost unearned profits. They do this by "externalizing" their expenses on you, the taxpaying public.
Loathsome Wal-Mart Still Feels Like Home [Tampa Bay Tribune (Fla.)]
After moving to Tampa from a small town in Illinois, I did not want to contribute to the pathetic plight of the environment and shop at overbearing conglomerates that bully local businesses and eventually, in some way, shape or form, lead to global warming.
