Explore the roots of Washington agriculture with farmers, producers, wholesalers, retailers, educators and consumers who will gather together during the Tilth Producers of Washington Annual Conference, November 7-9, 2008 in Bellingham.
Tilth Producers, a non-profit, membership organization of Washington growers and industry representatives, invites the public to participate in workshops, symposiums, film screenings and special events centered around this year's conference theme, Farming for the Ages: Exploring Our Roots, Adapting to Change.
Beginning Friday, November 7 through Sunday, November 9, the Annual Conference is being held at the Best Western Lakeway Inn in Bellingham,
Washington. Conference highlights include:
* Keynote address, Saturday morning, November 8, 8:45 a.m., by Dr. Paul Hepperly, Research Director, Rodale Institute; No Till, Organic and Traditional Agriculture: They Can All Work Together;
* 25 workshops throughout the weekend on topics such as organic farming technique, sustainability, management and marketing;
* Film screenings Friday and Saturday evenings of King Corn, Good Food and Growing Awareness; and,
* WSU Symposium, Friday, November 7, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Food Safety and Risk Management for Farmers.
Entertainment and farm fresh meal are planned throughout the conference along with Tilth Producers annual membership meeting and board elections,Sunday, November 9. Registration fees vary for members and non-members and daily events. Ride sharing and roommate matches are also available.
