Avoiding Collapse
Jared Diamond, a man of multiple talents (evolutionary biologist,
physiologist, biogeographer, professor of geography and physiology at
UCLA, non-fiction author), gave an interesting talk at TED about why
societies collapse. Environmental factors play a big role in his
checklist, and it should be a reminder to us that we
must
not only find solutions, but actually apply them. According to Dr.
Diamond, we're lucky that most of our problems are of our own making,
because it means we can do something about them. Via TED.
