Residents Win Battle Against Proposed Wal-Mart

DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A group of Lancaster County residents has won a legal victory in their battle against a proposed Wal-Mart.

The Wal-Mart shopping center is planned for a site off Routes 272 and 372 in Drumore Township.

A Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas judge ruled to block the shopping center because sewer plans did not meet government requirements.

Judy O'Brien said it is worth the fight. "We knew we had the right to defend our quality of life, even though there were a lot of people telling us it was a done deal," said O'Brien.

The developer could still appeal the judge's ruling.
