Aspartame Induces Lymphomas and Leukemias in Rats (European J of Oncology 2005;10:107-116).  Morando Soffritti et al demonstrate, for the first time, that aspartame (ASP) causes a statistically significant dose-related increase in lymphomas and leukemias in rats at dose levels very near those to which humans are exposed.  Even at the lowest exposure of 80 ppm there was a 69% increase compared to controls.
