Fight the GMO bullies

I write to urge our Vermont legislators to vote for H.112 with no trigger except a start date.

Maine’s legislators passed a GMO labeling law with a trigger mechanism that essentially gave New Hampshire veto power over their law. To be implemented it required that four contiguous states pass a similar law. Maine borders only New Hampshire, so it appears Maine’s legislators hid behind their complex trigger mechanism rather than pass a clean bill exposing the state to the inevitable lawsuit. Connecticut did something similar.

Courage, legislators! A clear majority of the state and the nation want this legislation to push back against overbearing corporate power. The eyes of the nation and the hopes of the people are with you. If passed in Vermont I would guess that many nongovernmental organizations and wealthy individuals will come to our aid in fighting the corporate bullies.
