OCA & FOE to Protest at Kraft Shareholders
Meeting in Richmond

TELL KRAFT TO STOP USING GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOODS!
PROTEST AT THEIR ANNUAL SHAREHOLDERS MEETING!

THURSDAY, APRIL 26TH
8 a.m. - 10 a.m.

PHILLIP-MORRIS Headquarters
3601 Commerce Road
Richmond, Virginia
[directions below, maps attached]

Join activists from the Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace,
Organic Consumers Association, and local environmental groups for a
demonstration and symbolic food dump at Phillip Morris headquarters
in Richmond on Thursday, April 26th, date of the company's annual
shareholders' meeting. Protest the sale of genetically engineered (GE)
foods by Kraft Foods, a subsidiary of the tobacco giant, and support
a GE foods phase-out resolution to be voted on by shareholders on
the 26th.

Activists will symbolically dump Kraft products that may contain
genetically engineered (GE) ingredients into a biopollution bin, sending
shareholders a powerful message about the need to go GE-free. A
25-foot mutant Ear of Corn may also make an appearance.

Last fall, Kraft had to recall over 25 million Taco Bell taco shells
that the company had produced with StarLink corn, an engineered variety
never approved for human consumption. Like other GE foods, StarLink
poses the risk of causing food allergies in unsuspecting consumers. The
shareholders' phase-out resolution is being proposed by The Sisters of
St. Dominic to protect consumers and the environment from untested and
unlabeled GE foods. You can read a copy at:

Contact Bill Freese (billfreese@prodigy.net, 301-985-3011) for details,
car-pooling from DC, or to let us know you're coming.

The event is early in the morning because shareholders, the Board of
Directors, and most media will be inside by 9 am for the beginning of the
meeting. So, please be there no later than 8:30 am to ensure that we
have a good sized group.

Thanks for your support!
