Sources for Non-rBGH Cheese & Dairy

The following U.S. dairy farms and manufacturers do NOT use genetically
engineered bovine growth hormone (rBGH) in their cheese products. Many also
sell milk, butter, and other dairy products. This list includes rBGH free
cheese from cows only. Sheep and goats are never injected with rBGH.

While compiling this list, we heard comments from these farmers and
producers, such as "rBGH is bad for the cows, " "the cows have to be fed
more and that wastes environmental resources," and "consumers are wary of
cows being treated with hormones." This steroid hormone is bad for cows.
Because it's used in large confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs), it's
also bad for the environment. Human health issues have been raised when this
issue was reviewed abroad.

We welcome readers to make copies of this list and to encourage their
grocers to make rBGH products available for their customers. This list was
