Organic Essentials- Meet the Farmers!
With it's cold winters and early frosts, the High Plains of Texas is an ideal area for raising organic cotton. The cold winters keep insect pressure low and early frosts naturally defoliate the plants, which is especially important since the cotton is grown using organic farming methods.

Rather than applying synthetic pesticides on the soil or plants, organic producers invest large amounts of time in researching safe and effective pest and disease control. This means that weeds are usually eliminated manually with a hoe and benefit insects are added to the fields.  Extra caution is also taken in processing the raw fiber. Organic cotton is kept separate from other fiber to insure its integrity. From the time the bales enter the processing facility, extra care and attention are given to cleaning the equipment and keeping the organic cotton in bale merges and lot numbers that can be tracked throughout the plant.

Many people ask this question, and our answer is "Why wouldn’t you use organic?" When you learn about your options in the area of menstrual products, why would you take the chance of using...

Beware of cotton products that claim to be "green" or "natural", they are still using cotton grown with chemicals! If it is organic, it will say "Certified Organic"

  Organic Essentials Tampons 

  Our Tampons are made from 100% Certified Organically Grown Cotton. No synthetic chemicals, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, or harmful bleaches are used in the production. Non-GMO Cotton! Each individual tampon is wrapped in cellophane, boxed, and sealed. The tampons are available in digital and applicator style. Perfume-free; to avoid disruption of a women’s microbial balance and to reduce internal irritation. 

  Sterilization Process 

  Certified Organic Cotton has a very low aerobic microbial content. The average test result is roughly 79 organisms per gram. Our organic cotton tampons are well below the 1,000 organisms per gram allowed by the USA FDA guidelines. The lint cotton is washed in pure soap and whitened with hydrogen peroxide instead of chlorine bleach. The vaginal area is one of the most absorptive parts of a woman's body.
