20 Day Vegan Cuilnary Arts Program is being offered this June in Portland, Oregon. Learn all about how to prepare and present delicious, nutrient-dense Organic, Plant-based Cuisine from a Professional Vegan Chef and Educator. Program includes 100+ hours of training in Vegan Cuisine from Appetizers, Salads, Condiments and Sauces to Entrees, Baked Goods and Desserts. Chef Al is a Culinary Institute of America graduate who has combined his passions for teaching and cooking vegan cuisine for the past 16 years. Emphasis is on "farm/garden-to-the-table" type of preparing food. Learn how to work with local organic farmers, how to choose the best organic produce, food products and equipment. Tuition includes a Eco Binder filled with relevant resource information and recipes; Organic Smoothie; Herbal Tea and Gourmet Vegan Meal per day of the training. Weekends are off so that students can travel in and around Portland, one of the most veg-friendly, green cities in the country.

Introduction to Natural Building and Cob Works

We will teach people how to build healthy small inexpensive buildings using natural building techniques, natural building materials, and recycled items. Cob is a traditional building technique that combines clay, sand, straw, and water. Cobbing is a simple tactile technique that requires no experience. Cobbing gives you the freedom to design an inspiring home that leaves a smaller footprint on the Earth, and your pocketbook. Cost: $150 includes three healthy vegetarian meals a day, snacks, a camp site, and access to composting toilets and outdoor showers. Limit: The workshops will be limited to 10 people per class. Dates: June 27th through 29th July 11th through 13th July 25th through July 27th August 8th through August 10th August 22nd through 24th Workshops will begin Friday morning after breakfast (8:00 a.m.) and end Sunday afternoon. Folks are encouraged to arrive and set up camp Thursday evenings.
