  Committed to supporting sustainable agriculture and in particular organic rice farming and marketing, the Philippine Development Assistance Programme (PDAP) has supported the organic rice industry. PDAP implemented programs supporting Sustainable Agriculture. In 1998 with the implementation of the Promoting Participation in Sustainable Enterprises - a program funded by the Canadian International Development Agency, PDAP continued its support to SA practitioners who were converting into full organic. It started to support the marketing of organic rice in major urban centers in the Philippines.
