* Roots of Change has a new interview with Michael Pollan up, about his thoughts on the future of California’s food system.

* Monsanto’s had a good week this week in their GE sugarbeet case.

* The Economist has a pretty tragic piece about feeding 9 billion people. They say that organic can’t feed the world. Nice job ignoring facts, studies, and scientists, Economist.

* For a really smart article, check out Jim Harkness’ piece Food Security and National Security where he says, “The rest of the world should learn from China’s approach to managing its wheat supplies.”

* Environmental Working Group has a new piece out: Women in Agriculture – By the Numbers.

* Can’t remember if I linked to this before… but it’s worth posting again if I did: Doug Gurian-Sherman says “Companies that genetically engineer crops have a lock on what we know about their safety and benefits.”
