Regenerative agriculture and holistic livestock management represent the next, crucial stage of organic food and farming, not only avoiding toxic pesticides, fertilizers, sewage sludge, GMO seeds, and excessive greenhouse gas emissions, but regenerating soil fertility, water retention, carbon sequestration, and rural livelihoods as well.
Regeneration has now become the hottest topic in the natural and organic food sector. At the same time, climate activists regularly discuss the role of organic and regenerative practices in reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions and sequestering excess atmospheric carbon dioxide in soils and agricultural landscapes.
Inside Regeneration International, which now includes 400 affiliates in more than 60 countries, our primary focus is moving beyond the basics of Regeneration to identifying regenerative and organic “best practices” around the globe and figuring out how to utilize farmer innovation, marketplace demand, policy reform, and public and private investing to qualitatively spread and scale these best practices up so that organic and regenerative becomes the norm, rather than just the alternative, for the planet’s now degenerative multi trillion-dollar food, farming and land use system.Learn more: Regenerative Food and Farming: Survival and Revival
Whitney Webb writes:
“The 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001 is a particularly somber one, not just because of the horrific nature of events of that day reaching its second-decade milestone, but because of how little we seem to have learned in that amount of time.
The fear and trauma generated by the events of 9/11 were used by the US national security state and its civilian allies to great effect to divide the American population, to attack independent reporting as well as independent thought, to gut the anti-war movement, and to normalize the US government’s overt and persistent degradation of the country’s Constitution.
This, of course, is in addition to the illegal US occupations and drone wars in the Middle East and elsewhere that were also born out of this event.
Now, 20 years on, the sophisticated “War on Terror” apparatus has been fully turned into a “War on Domestic Terror,” with many of those who once opposed the war on terrorism abroad now cheering on the ratcheting up of its domestic equivalent…”

Vandana Shiva writes on Pachamama (Mother Earth) Day:
“The web of life is a food web woven by Pachamama through her self-organization, creativity, generative power and regeneration. Food is nourishment. Good Food is Health. Food is the flow that embodies our relationship to the earth, materially, biologically, nutritionally, ecologically.
Food is the currency of life which flows from biodiversity in living soil, through plants and insects, to sustain the biodiversity in our gut microbiome.
It is the connection between us, the earth, and other species. We are part of the web of life which is a food web. The food web weaves the web of life, in cooperation and mutuality. Food is the metabolism that connects humans with the earth, the country and the city, biodiversity and cultural diversity. Food can overcome the metabolic rift between humans and nature, individuals and community, the city and the country. Food can overcome the deep divisions and inequality in society. Food is a human right. Through food we can create just and sustainable communities and societies.”

Common Dreams writes:
“A recent report by Clean Creatives focuses on the work of 90 agencies across three different regions—Australia, Europe, and North America—and notes that "fossil fuel industry clients include the full range of corporations involved in the business of extracting, transporting, refining, and selling fossil fuels, their trade associations, and front groups representing their interests."
In the United States, the fossil fuel companies have "expanded their efforts to oppose and water down major climate legislation under the Biden administration," the report says. In Europe, they face a "stricter regulatory environment targeting their products, and a tightening space for their advertisements," but "these measures have not stopped fossil interests—both in the business of extraction, and power generation—from attacking major proposals for climate action."

Noted food and organic industry analyst Phillip Howard writes in Civil Eats:
“As consumers are given the appearance of more choices, actual ownership of these brands is held by a decreasing number of firms behind the scenes,” including Cargill, Tyson, and Nestlé…Nearly every week a major media outlet publishes a headline announcing that a giant meat or dairy processor has acquired full or partial ownership of an “alternative protein” firm—such as JBS buying the Dutch firm Vivera, which competes with Beyond Meat in the European market, earlier this year. These new companies are making plant-based meat, dairy, or fish substitutes, working to commercialize lab-grown meat, and incorporating insects into foods like pasta and energy bars.
What is motivating these investments, and what impacts will they have? The emphasis on protein—a single macronutrient, to the exclusion of all others—has been an effective strategy for the largest firms to break through current barriers to growth, even though most people eat more protein than their bodies need.”

The United Nations Food Systems Summit in NYC on Sept. 23 was hijacked by corporate agribusiness and the pesticide/GMO cartel. In the wake of this corporate food summit, OCA and Regeneration International are broadcasting a “peoples’ summit” to promote organic and regenerative food systems.
Regeneration International, the Organic Consumers Association, the Global Alliance for Organic Districts, IFOAM Asia, Navdanya, the International Network of Eco Regions, Savory Hub Africa, Via Organica, the League of Organic Municipalities and Cities and BERAS International will be hosting the People's Food Summit on World Food Day, October 16, this year.
The Summit will be a 24 hour global, participatory, virtual summit that will start in Oceania, and move westwards through the time zones of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America.
We will have speakers from every continent to present the truly good news about organic and regenerative systems—including Vandana Shiva, Ronnie Cummins, Andre Leu, Million Belay, Precious Phiri, Ben Dobson, and others, with panels, discussions and other live events as well as videos and music from every region of the world.

OCA’s ally, US Right to Know reports:
“In the United States, Covid-19 appears to be infecting, hospitalizing and killing black people and Latinos at alarmingly high rates, with data from several states illustrating this pattern. Health disparities in nutrition and obesity, often deriving from structural racism, correlate closely with the alarming racial and ethnic disparities related to Covid-19. See, “Covid-19 and Disparities in Nutrition and Obesity” in the New England Journal of Medicine (July 15, 2020) .
Structural inequalities across U.S. society contribute to this problem, including unequal access to fresh healthy foods, unequal access to health care, socioeconomic factors and excess exposure to toxic chemicals and unhealthy air, to name a few. For more information about structural inequities in our food system, see resources from Duke University’s World Food Policy Center and the Food First Institute for Development and Food Policy.”

Interpress Service reports that: “COVID-19 has exposed serious vulnerabilities in how people around the world access and consume food.
One of the more alarming trends is the significant increase in the consumption of foods that may be tasty and convenient, but harm our health. These ultra-processed products include sugary drinks, snack foods, frozen meals, packaged breads and frozen desserts.
In the half century or so since they have been available, ultra-processed products have largely displaced traditional diets, pushing healthy food options off of store shelves. Ultra-processed products comprise more than half of diets in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom, and between one-fifth and one-third in Brazil, Mexico and Chile.
These low-nutrient foods, which are ready to eat or ready to heat, have become a dominant player in our food system and are now among the most aggressively promoted and marketed products in the world.
Ultra-processed products are booming globally. While sales are highest in Australia, the United States and Canada, they are increasing rapidly in middle-income countries including China, South Africa and Brazil. And worryingly, children and low-income people in communities with fewer healthy food choices, are often the primary targets of ultra-processed product marketing.”Learn more: For Healthier Food Systems: Turn the Tide Against Ultra-Processed Products
As Children’s Health Defense reminds us:
“The 1972 Biological Weapons Convention prohibited bioengineering pathogens to create biological weapons, but because nations have been unable to agree on how to strengthen the treaty, some countries are still doing the research and stockpiling bioweapons.”
Unfortunately, the overwhelming evidence indicates that one of these engineered pathogens, SARS-CoV-2, a joint project of US and Chinese scientists, was released in 2019 (either accidentally or deliberately) from a poorly regulated, accident-prone dual-use (military and medical) lab in Wuhan, China, setting off the COVID-19 pandemic.
Genetic engineering applied to pathogens is, in reality, the science of creating illegal bioweapons. This insanely dangerous, but financially lucrative research is being carried out by an international network of scientists, gene engineers, and military contractors.
It’s time to stop the microbe madness. It’s time to prioritize human survival over partisan politics and superpower rivalries. It’s time to implement mandatory global inspections and controls/bans (like we have for nuclear weapons proliferation), and mandatory, draconian penalties for violations.
This is the way, and likely the only way, we can stop the next pandemic, before it starts.
SIGN THE PETITION: Stop the Genetic Engineering of Viruses! Shut Down All Biowarfare Labs Immediately!
