“Hugh Grant speaks of walking away with $75 million and being proud of his work over 37 years at the ag and seed giant, Monsanto. Former Monsanto chief Hugh Grant spent several hours on the witness stand [May 31] – testifying for the first time in front of a jury at a Roundup trial – telling the court repeatedly that global regulators had found no evidence that the company’s herbicides cause cancer.

Under sharp questioning from the plaintiff’s attorney in the case, Grant answered questions about whether or not Monsanto had a duty to warn consumers of a cancer risk by saying there was no such established risk.

‘The product [Roundup with the active ingredient glyphosate] had been examined and studied almost continuously for 40 years around the world and had never been deemed to be a carcinogen,’ he said. ‘It’s a circumstance that never occurred. There was never, never a need to communicate such a hypothetical.’

During his 37 years at the company, Grant said: ‘The reality is that based on regulatory examination almost constantly during that entire period the product was never found to cause cancer.’

In multiple answers to a range of questions regarding the company’s messaging to consumers, Grant cited the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as the authority for determining what information is displayed on product labels.

‘The label isn’t designed by Monsanto,’ he said.

Grant, 64, was called as a witness in the case of Allan Shelton, a 34-year-old man suffering from non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) who alleges his repeated use of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicides caused his disease.”

As OCA and our allies have pointed out for decades, we need a new food and farming system that is organic, healthy, equitable, and environmentally friendly, in a word Regenerative. Unfortunately, the Davos crowd, the transnational cabal that tried and nearly succeeded in seizing control over our entire lives during the past two and a half years, have a radically different idea about the kind of food system we need, a system they apparently believe they can force down our throats if necessary.

The Great Resetters’ degenerate food system, much like the old, supercharged by fear, indentured science, and censorship, is fundamentally based upon toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, patented seeds, patented lab meats, fake dairy, and other genetically engineered foods. The Great Reset food system they believe they can force us to swallow will involve producing food in industrial vats, urban warehouses, and plastic containers instead of soil. This hi-tech food and farming dystopia, championed by Bill Gates and Silicon Valley, will stigmatize and penalize meat and dairy-eaters, farmers, and literally threaten the livelihoods of several billion rural people around the world who raise, and depend upon, their livestock or fishing. Gates and company’s Alt-food will downplay the importance of organics and the seriousness of our mass epidemic of diet and environmental-driven chronic disease—promising that Big Pharma patented drugs and new mRNA “gene therapy” vaccines will take care of us.

“The created food crisis, whether real or a smoke-and-mirrors psy-op, is all about tearing down the global food system and ‘building back better’ – a new dystopian food system built by corporate monoliths and rigidly controlled in the name of the greater good… We have Russia’s “special operation” in Ukraine driving up the price of staple foods, wheat and sunflower oil, as well as fertilizer. We have the sudden “bird flu outbreak” driving up the price of poultry and eggs. The soaring price of oil is driving up the cost of food distribution. The inflation caused by huge influxes of fiat currency means families are spending more money on less food…

It’s pretty clear this is The Great Reset: Food Edition. The lockdown melody with slightly different lyrics. A process of breaking down the structures already in place so we can ‘build back better’ with a more controlled and more corporatized food system.”

Anis Chowdhury and Jomo Kwame Sundaram write in Inter Press:

“US and allied economic sanctions against Russia for its illegal invasion of Ukraine have not achieved their declared objectives. Instead, they are worsening economic stagnation and inflation worldwide. Worse, they are exacerbating hunger, especially in Africa… Even when supposedly targeted, sanctions are blunt instruments, often generating unintended consequences, sometimes contrary to those intended. Hence, sanctions typically fail to achieve their stated objectives.

Many poor and food insecure countries are major wheat importers from Russia and Ukraine. The duo provided 90% of Somalia’s imports, 80% of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s, and about 40% of both Yemen’s and Ethiopia’s.

It appears the financial blockade on Russia has hurt its smaller and more vulnerable Central Asian neighbors more: 4.5 million from Uzbekistan, 2.4 million from Tajikistan, and almost a million from Kyrgyzstan work in Russia. Difficulties sending remittances cause much hardship to their families at home.

Although not their declared intent, US measures during 1982–2011 hurt the poor more. Poverty levels in sanctioned countries have been 3.8 percentage points higher than in similar countries.

Sanctions also hurt children and other disadvantaged groups much more. Research in 69 countries found sanctions lowered infant weight and increased the likelihood of death before age three. Unsurprisingly, economic sanctions violate the UN Convention on the Rights of Children…”
