ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
What if there were an organic technology that could cut greenhouse gas emissions in half and literally suck down and naturally sequester 50-100 parts-per-million of excess atmospheric greenhouse gases (GHG) into our living soil?
We have the technology to avert climate catastrophe. Traditional carbon ranching, or the rotational grazing of animals on deep-rooted perennial grasses, in combination with organic crop cultivation, reforestation, and wetland restoration can restabilize the climate and save the planet. Take Action!
According to a recent poll, at least half of U.S. consumers oppose industrial factory farming.
Now some federal legislators (and some presidential candidates) are catching up with voter sentiment. And some are stepping up with proposals to either severely restrict, or outright ban what Big Ag refers to as CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations).
The latest good news? A bill, introduced by Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), that could, among other things, lead to the end of industrial factory farms.
TAKE ACTION to ban factory farms! Tell Congress to pass the Farm System Reform Act of 2019.

But if you’re eating D’Artagnan’s foie gras, what you’re actually eating is the diseased liver of a tortured duck or goose.
Samples of D’Artagnan’s foie gras, submitted by Organic Consumers Association for independent lab testing, confirm that the product is made from the livers of ducks that suffer from “severe hepatic lipidosis,” or what’s commonly known as fatty liver disease.
Setting aside the “yuck” factor for a minute, what do these test results mean?
They mean that the birds used to produce this “great delicacy” for consumers lived painful, tortured lives.

Before we talk about the future of food and farming and the crisis of organic standards, here’s some good news: Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.), a leading contender for the White House in 2020, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and several other presidential candidates have just come out strongly against Monsanto and factory farming and in favor of fundamental change in our agricultural policies. (Sign this petition to thank Sanders and Warren for taking on Big Ag).
Sanders and more than 100 members of Congress, supported by millions of Americans--including leading farmers and ranchers— are now calling for a Green New Deal that encompasses both urban and rural America. A Green New Deal that will scale up fundamental change, not only in our energy and economic policies, but also in the food and farming policies that have devastated our landscape, public health and rural communities.
