Q. Extra protein at breakfast helps me get through a hectic morning,
but I'm sensitive to dairy and soy, so I have been trying hemp
protein powder instead. Blended with fruit or juice it tastes OK and
boosts my fiber intake, but does it really have the "good fats" it
claims? Also, is there any chance that eating hemp protein would lead
to a positive drug-test result?
A. For decades the Drug Enforcement Administration allowed foods made
with hemp seed and hemp oil to be sold in the U.S. as long as the
hemp was grown outside the U.S., in Read more

Dear readers,
We have some truly astonishing news for you today. For starters, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) now seems to be openly abandoning any last remnants of journalistic integrity by announcing it will not ban the publishing of studies written by authors who hide their financial ties with drug companies.
JAMA, which has long been recognized by critics as the propaganda mouthpiece of Big Pharma, says it is afraid of being sued by drug companies if it refuses to print the pro-drug studies written by these researchers who receive money from Read more

Happy Friday!
As usual, we like to stir up the comedy a bit on Fridays, and today we bring you a hilarious story about stopping the spread of infectious disease.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has come up with a brilliant new way to teach Americans too stupid to understand numbers how to wash their hands: Sing the "Happy Birthday" song to themselves while they scrub their hands. When the song is over, the washing is done!
Apparently, the concept of "60 seconds" is too complex for the American public. At least, that's what the CDC thinks.

TWO YEARS ago, a federal appellate court cleared the way for goods
and foods containing hemp seed and oil to be sold and consumed in the
United States.
Today, hemp is used in a wide array of popular products, from soap to
snack foods, from paper to shower curtains, from jeans to auto parts.
Yet the cultivation of industrial hemp remains illegal in this nation.
Why? Two words: mythology and confusion.
Industrial hemp suffers discrimination by association with its
cannabis cousin -- marijuana. The federal Controlled Read more

Your mobile phone could be a major health hazard, research shows.
The phones, an essential part of everyday life for 55million Britons, are crawling with potentially lethal bacteria.
With tens of thousands of microbes living on each square inch, they harbour more bacteria than a lavatory seat, the sole of a shoe or a door handle. Microbiologists say the combination of constant handling and the heat generated by the phones creates a prime breeding ground for all sorts of bugs that are normally found on our skin.
They include Staphylococcus aureus, which can Read more

Today we bring you a feature commentary about the importance of physical education for children. In public schools all across the country, recess time and P.E. classes are being cut back and replaced with academic study. It's a huge mistake, and it's part of the reason we're raising a generation of children with rampant obesity and diabetes problems.
But there's more to this story than just disease prevention. Read the full feature at:

Seven people from the same village in Karo district, northern Sumatra, Indonesia, are in hospital with suspected bird flu H5N1 infection, say local authorities. This is the same general area where seven family members came down with bird flu and died a couple of months ago.
Authorities in Indonesia say they are waiting for confirmation after samples were sent to a laboratory. If tests come back positive it could be proof of another cluster of human bird flu infections in the country. Two infected girls are sisters, while another three infected patients belong to the same family. Read more

With all the heavy metals, pesticides, plastics and other toxic chemicals now being detected in the bodies of practically everyone (new mothers have rocket fuel chemicals in their milk!), people are beginning to look more seriously at solutions for eliminating those chemicals from their bodies.
Modern medical science, however, has no idea how to remove these chemicals. And many in conventional medicine deny that these toxic chemicals are harmful at all. In fact, most conventional medicine treatments pump you full of MORE chemicals! And let's not even talk about the food and Read more
