EDMONTON - Another suspected case of mad cow disease has surfaced, this time in a young dairy cow on a farm near Edmonton.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting tests to confirm whether the 50-month-old dairy cow, the youngest so far detected since the first case turned up in 2003, had bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) when it died.

A tiny company, Ventria Bioscience, is continuing to pursue its business hopes in North Carolina by planting pharmaceutical rice genetically engineered with human proteins near Greenville. Additionally, Ventria has shown interest in building a processing facility in the Washington County area. Ventria has been given permits by the US Department of AgricultureÃs Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to plant 335 acres of pharmaceutical rice field trials, four times the acreage of what was allowed to be planted last year.

MEDIA -- It’s official. Not only is this tiny

Commercial Media organizations are reporting that Felipe Calderòn won Sunday's presidential election by 0.58 percent of the vote and will govern Mexico for the next six years, beginning on December 1.
It would not be the first time that the Commercial Media has been wrong.
Many of those reports have claimed that Wednesday's first official count of precinct results in Mexico 130,000 pieces of paper that claim to represent the vote tallies was a "recount."

Over half a million people took to the streets of Mexico City on Saturday to protest the fraudulent election of Felipe Calderon. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the real winner of the presidential election, told the huge crowd, "the elections were fraudulent from the start," adding the incumbent president, Vincente Fox "has betrayed democracy."

LA JOLLA, California, July 10, 2006 (ENS) - Prions - the same disease agents that cause the fatal brain illness known as mad cow disease and its human variant - also cause a form of heart disease in mice, scientists at Scripps Research Institute have found.
The finding raises the possibility that heart infection could be a type of prion disease, and that these prion diseases could travel through the blood.
