Your Senators are set to vote today on an “ag-gag” bill that will make it illegal for you or anyone else who witnesses the abuse of animals or workers on factory farms to report it.

Worse yet, this bill, SB 751, is so far-reaching it could even prevent teachers from exposing child abuse at daycare centers, and employees from documenting workplace discrimination or mistreatment.

TAKE ACTION: Please call today! Ask your Senators to oppose SB 751! Look up your Senator’s number here.

Here’s what you can say when you call:

Dear Senator, as your constituent, I urge you to oppose SB 751, which would prevent whistleblowers from gathering evidence of unlawful and abusive activity, including animal abuse, food safety violations, abuse to children in daycare, and environmental pollution.

SB 751 is modeled after a bill passed in North Carolina in 2015, described as one of the worst ag-gag bills in the nation. Similar to the North Carolina bill, Arkansas SB 751 would prevent people who witness illegal or unethical activity, including animal abuse, food safety violations, and the illegal dumping of pollutants, from reporting it.

Whistleblowers are critical to preserving the integrity of our food production system, and bringing to justice those who break the law by abusing vulnerable members of our community.

SB 751 is a disturbing assault on free speech and would have disastrous consequences. Don’t let this bill become law!
