Before I go into the collection of news, I want to make a philosophical statement since I am thinking about it.

Here is the statement. To my senses, it’s good to focus on defending our dignity and helping each other without demanding or even expecting total agreement on every monumental mystery of life or postulate of science, this second, immediately, or else you are not on my team.

(Since when did it become available to human beings to know the final and definitive answer to every big question of science and history—and know it right now? I think that if the goal is the truth, then closing one’s mind after making it up at one point in time is not a winning strategy.)

In my observations, being dogmatic stems from a lack of faith in the beauty of the universe, and that’s really what it is. (“If everyone doesn’t immediately abandon any views about important things that don’t coincide with mine, then all the world’s burdens will fall on my shoulders, and it’s unfair to me!!!” Jeez, have some faith, you are not alone in this universe!)

I am saying this as a mere observation, no judgement. In my own life, up until a certain point, I used to depend on external validation of my views and felt heartbroken if any of my appointed “heroes” made choices that I didn’t like. I remember that very well! Then I grew up. Today, I feel chill.
