Mexico Mulls Use of GMO Corn in Feed

Mexico to determine whether GMO corn will be allowed in animal feed following a recent decree to prohibit the use of GMO corn, Bloomberg reported.

Mexico plans to phase out GMO corn imports over the next three years.

According to a Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development email, the ministry will discuss if the new ban will apply to animal feed with producers along with the supply chain.

The ban is part of Mexico’s effort to become self-sufficient in food production.
